Leaving tomorrow!

Last week was a busy week with running back and forth to Bible School.  Cam and I celebrated the last day of Bible School with lunch at Five Guys and ice cream at Baskin Robbins.

Harrison only lasted one day at Bible School.  It just wasn't his thing!

I also took Emma Taylor to Sweet Tea and Biscuits for lunch one day.  I love spending some one-on-one time with her.

Cameron and I shared our first watermelon of the season on Saturday.

Just noticed this post is all about food!  I guess that's what we do to celebrate!

We are leaving tomorrow heading for Niagara Falls.  We are meeting Pat and Dave in Eric, PA, then heading to the Falls the next day.  We are staying on the Canadian side of the Falls.  Then we will head over to Detroit and do the Henry Ford stuff, then on up through Michigan to Mackinaw Island.  We will head home along the west coast of Michigan and see some of the cute little towns and lighthouses along the way.  I don't know how long we'll be gone but I'll catch up once we get home.

I'm already missing my grands!

Bible School Boys!

Doug has been gone all week so you'd think I'd have all the time in the world.  I do but I'm not getting much accomplished!

I've been running the Bible School route...drop off and pick up.

Cameron has been every day and said it was a blast!  Harrison only went one day.  Evidently he didn't enjoy it as much!

Yesterday after Bible School and after taking them to McDonald's for lunch, we went bowling.  It was a good thing to do on a hot day!  I even bowled!

It was fun and we all enjoyed it.

Cameron has had baseball games Monday and Tuesday nights at 7:30 and lasting until at least 9:00.  The boys have spent the night with me the last two nights.

A few pictures from the game.

He's on third and waiting to come home.

He played first base last night.

He got a couple of good hits and scored two runs.

Proud dad and son.

Cousins and supporters.

Cam has a mouth protector in his mouth.  He needs it when he plays catcher.

The baseball season is over.  I sure will miss watching them play!

Handprints and footprints in the clay

Our weekend was quiet and uneventful.  Doug spent most of the weekend getting ready for his Bowling Green trip.  He has worked furiously for the last several weeks getting his friend's race car ready...the one Doug will be racing.  He left this morning and will be gone all week.  So once again I have a list of things to accomplish while he's gone.  There are 10 bags of mulch out back calling my name!

In truth, I probably won't get all that much done.  Bible School is this week at church and I'm taking Cameron and picking him up and I'm sure I'll have him most afternoons.  He has two ballgames also this week so I'm not going to get lonely or bored!

I'm working on some scrapbooks for Emma Taylor and just finished our Key West trip.  We will be leaving next week for our Niagara Falls/Michigan trip so I'll have another book to make after that.  I enjoy doing those books and really enjoy looking back at them.

I had have some fun company on Friday.  Karen, Kaydee, Luke and Darby came to visit.  We had a nice lunch and then went to Midnite Pottery to have handprints and footprints done for Darby.

She was so good and very cooperative.  She was probably wondering what in the world they were doing!

This little guy had fun playing in the playroom.  All new toys!

So glad I got a chance to visit with them!

Once again...

I just can't seem to find the time to update this blog!  It was so much easier when I sat in front of a computer all day at work and got paid for it!

Not much has been going on around here anyway.  It has been quite rainy lately but the grass and plants are loving it!  I've worked in the yard for the last two days trimming things and spreading bags of mulch.  Doug has been working furiously on one of D.W.'s race cars, the one he'll hopefully be racing in Bowling Green next weekend!

We did get together with friends on Saturday night at the new Texas Roadhouse.  It's only been open about a month and was packed!  We had to wait about an hour but there were 11 of us so I'm sure with a smaller party the wait wouldn't have been so long.  The food was delicious though.

We were celebrating Tom Franks' birthday.

That's Tom's son Chris sitting next to Doug.  He was visiting from Illinois.

Sonny's girlfriend Linda is sitting by Betty.

We came back to our house for birthday cake after dinner.  We enjoyed helping Tom celebrate!

Things are really blooming with all this rain!  The daylilies are so pretty this year and have more blooms than I ever remember them having.

The gardenia bushes are full of blooms and smell so sweet.

The Rose of Sharon bush is beginning to bloom too.

Only three blooms on the oak leaf hydrangea but they are bigger than usual and the bush looks much healthier.

The hummingbirds seem to be enjoying this weather too!

It's a lovely time of year in Mississippi!
