Aunt Ethel's 98th Birthday!

My Aunt Ethel's 98th birthday was Saturday and my cousin organized a birthday luncheon celebration for her at Mi Toro in Corinth.  Aunt Ethel is my dad's only living sister.  He has one brother still living.  There were ten kids in that family!

She may be 98 but she's as sharp as a tack and doesn't look nearly 98!

Such a good sport!

This is her brother, Uncle T.C.  He's in his late eighties and looking great!

We wanted our picture taken with the birthday girl!

Carolyn and Max were enjoying themselves.  I think they enjoyed getting out of the house.

It was a fun celebration.  Aunt Ethel has been blessed!

Darby's 2nd Birthday

I've been bad at posting...again!  It's been a busy week with doctor appointments and just life in general.  How time flies when you're retired!

She had a unicorn themed party and, as usual, Kaydee attended to every detail!

The cake was a work of art!

The table was beautiful.  So many treats!

We had a little lunch before all those sweet things.

The birthday girl wasn't quite sure what was going on.

Her cousin Duncan enjoyed himself.

Let's get this party started!

Lots and lots of fun presents!

She got the playhouse from her GiGi and Papa.

A fun unicorn sprinkler.

We even got in on the fun!

Sisters.

Duncan was loving the new toys too!

Some fun pictures.

Still can't believe she's already 2!

School supply shopping and barn quilts!

What a combination!

I took the boys shopping for school supplies yesterday.  I can't believe that summer is almost over and the kids will be back in school in no time.  I think they're ready though.  They get a little bored in the summer.  Anyway, the supply list was long but we got everything.  Walmart was a mad house though.  We could hardly get through the aisles!

Seventh grade and sixth grade here they come!  They are both in middle school this year.

I got a sweet surprise from Ben and Cameron.  They know how much I love barn quilts.  I don't have a barn nor do I have a house that would accommodate one of the big barn quilts, so they designed, built and painted two barn quilts for us!

One hangs by our back door and is in Mississippi State colors.  The other is a Mopar barn quilt, probably the only one ever made, and it hangs on Doug's shop.

I love them both!  It was such a nice surprise.  They did a great job!

My eye is doing well.  So glad both eyes are done!

Have a great weekend!

Catching up!

We had a wonderful trip to the beach.  Pictures and recap to follow!

I had my other cataract surgery yesterday.  Everything went fine.  I slept most of the day yesterday.  For some reason I was sleepier this time.  I had my checkup today and the doc said everything looked fine.  I will continue the drops for another month.  What a pain!  Anyway I'll be glad when all this is over and I can move on so I can finally see well again!

I have plans to take Cameron and Harrison to get school supplies tomorrow.  It's so hard to believe that it's that time again already!  It's been a super short summer!

I'll also post pictures from Darby's second birthday party on Saturday.  Another fun bash!

Quiet Fourth and Last Day in Door County

Doug and I had a quiet day yesterday.  In the afternoon we took a leisurely drive through the country up to Shiloh, TN where we ate dinner at the Catfish Hotel.  It's right on the Tennessee River.  Catfish is delicious and the slaw is my favorite part!

We started our last day in Door County by driving to Bailey's Harbor.  It's on the east side of Door County and we had never driven through there before.  A good breakfast place was recommended so we took the suggestion.  Thyme Cuisine.

Delicious!  There are some good restaurants in Door County!

Doug had a traditional breakfast and I had eggs benedict.

I would highly recommend it!

We happened to pass by the range lights we saw on our tour the last time we were there.

Next stop was Lautenbach's.  This is one of our favorite markets.

They also make their own wine and have a free wine tasting area.  We tried a few.

We chose a couple to bring home with us.

More cherry trees.

Cherries are getting a bit red..

Another market.

And another!

We tried samples in all of these markets which, of course, is what sells the merchandise.

Then we were on our way home!  It was a quick trip but so fun!

Cameron left this afternoon for church camp in Pulaski, MS.

This is his second year to go to this camp.  He loved it last year and was very excited about going this year.

Harrison got braces this week.

He turned into a teenager overnight!

We are leaving for Orange Beach on Sunday morning.  Heather's family, her in-laws and her sister-in-law are leaving Saturday.  They are staying in a separate condo from us.  Cameron gets home from camp on Saturday late afternoon so we had to wait for him.  Our condo is just down the road from Heather's so I'm sure we will be spending our days together.  Looking forward to some relaxing days ahead!
