Branson Trip, Day 3

We decided to take a drive to Eureka Springs on this day.  Weather was a bit cool but at least it was sunny!

We drove out to Beautiful Table Rock Lake first.

Then on to Big Cedar Lodge.  The drive was very colorful!

The Bass Pro Shops guys own all kinds of stuff around this part of the country including Big Cedar Lodge and Top of the Rock.  We drove up to see Big Cedar Lodge.

There are several buildings to the Lodge.  Many conventions are held here.  It is quite big and the grounds are beautiful.

This is the registration office, along with some shops and restaurants.

There's the cutest chapel on the property, probably used for small weddings.

They even have their own covered bridge!

I like this place!

I would have loved to get out and walk around a bit but Doug wanted to be on our way!

Next stop was the beautiful Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs.  It is quite magnificent!  It's really out in the middle of nowhere!

It looks like an architectural wonder.  Some of our friends had children that got married there.

Then on to Christ of the Ozarks.  A passion play is held during the summer months.

You can't appreciate the size of this until you stand next to it.  It's 67 feet tall!

At some points in the city of Eureka Springs, you can view it from a distance.

We took a trolley tour of the city.  The tour guide used to be a policeman in Eureka Springs and was 7th generation from there.  He knew everything!

There are lots of Victorian houses in ES and many of them are bed and breakfasts.

Many are beautifully restored.  Many are not.

The trolley stopped for 15 minutes so we could take a look at the Crescent Hotel.  Built in 1886, it's still a working hotel and lots of weddings and receptions are held there we were told.

The registration desk is as it was back in the day.  Like stepping back in time!

Beautiful inside but you could definitely see the wear and tear.

It was hard to get a lot of pictures from the trolley but the trolley was a very good way to see the city.  This particular Victorian was a beauty!

We wish we could have spent more time in Eureka Springs but we had tickets to Sampson that evening back in Branson.

Sampson was held in the Sight and Sounds Theater.  It's really beautiful and holds about 2,000 people.  There was not an empty seat for the performance!

The performance was very entertaining and the special effects were spectacular!  No pictures were allowed during the performance, of course.

That wraps up day 3!

It's been a busy week with Ben in Houston, TX again this week so Cam and Trip are here.  I drive 15 miles to school every morning and 15 miles home, then after school do it all again!  Monday he had a basketball game in the evening, Tuesday he had basketball practice, last night was church and so on and so on!  I don't know how young people (Amy!) do this with multiple children!!  Thankfully Ben will be home Friday night.

Courtney will be delivering Allie Ruth tomorrow so I will be going to Tuscaloosa tomorrow morning after dropping Cam off at school.  She is being induced so I'm hoping it goes fast for her!  We are so anxious to meet the little princess!  Prayers for Courtney would be appreciated.

Thanksgiving

Before I finish Branson, I'm posting Thanksgiving pictures.

We always spend Thanksgiving in Red Bay at Karen and Ronald's house.  There's always a lot of food and a lot of fun!  We all gathered around for the blessing before eating.

Jake and Ty, Kaydee's stepsons, with Cameron.

Heather and Ben with Duncan, Courtney and Matt's son.  He was one in March and is going to be a big brother on Friday.

Pictures after dinner!  Randy had to work and Emma Taylor and Harrison were with their dad.  A small group for our family this year.

Courtney, Duncan and Matt.

This one made me laugh!

Tyler and Morgan with Captain.  They got engaged the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Paige, Duncan, Courtney, Kaydee, Luke, Darby and Morgan.
