Playing baseball

Cam is still playing baseball and a friend of Ben's captured some great pictures at the game last Saturday.

That's a pretty intense look!

He prefers to catch but sometimes he pitches.  Either way, he gives it his all!

First Day of School

The kids have been in school for over a week now, two weeks for Cameron.  We still get first day of school pictures!

Even the college students gets his pictures taken, though this was move in day.  Sam was pretty excited to be a freshman at Mississippi State majoring in biomedical engineering.

Emma Taylor is a junior and Bowen is a sophomore.  They go to Tupelo High School.  Emma Taylor is driving them this year.  EEK!!

Harrison goes to the middle school, 8th grade.  This is a change in schools for him but with Heather working in the Tupelo School System instead of Saltillo, he had to change.  He seems to like it though.

Cameron is in 7th grade at Guntown Middle School.

Everybody seems happy which makes moms and dads happy!

Have a great weekend!

St. Jude Dream Home

I have volunteered at the St. Jude Dream Home open house for the past two weekends.  The house was built and tickets were sold at $100 each to win it with only 7,000 tickets sold which sold out quickly.  The house is open for tours with no admission.  All the proceeds from building this house go to St. Jude.  They've been building a Dream Home every year for the past several years and it just keeps getting busier and busier!  Over 2,000 people come through every weekend.

I am posting a few pictures, thought some of you might like to see this beautiful home.  These were taken on training day so it doesn't look like there's anybody there.  On the weekends it would be impossible to get a decent picture.

It's in a beautiful subdivision, Spring Lake.  The lot was donated as was most everything else in the house.

The living room, dining room and kitchen are open together.

Beautiful master bedroom on the first floor.

That's quite a master bathroom!

I'm seeing floors like this one all over the internet.  Seems like they would be dated very quickly but I like the looks.

The music room upstairs.

Man cave upstairs.  Not sure about those hanging lights though??

Boy's bedroom.

Girl's bedroom.

Guest bath.  Another one with interesting tile.

These were taken from the balcony overlooking the first floor.

Nice back porch, though small.  The floor actually has a wooden look though is some kind of synthetic.

I didn't buy a ticket so I guess I won't be moving!  Hope you enjoyed the tour.  If you're in the area, but sure to stop by and see it!

Morgan's Shower

We are suffering through this heat that seems to go on day after day.  We are mostly staying inside!  Thank goodness for air conditioning!

Heather, Emma Taylor and I went to Red Bay a couple of Sundays ago for Morgan's shower.  It was a beautiful shower and well attended.  It was hard to get good pictures as there was a skylight right over the table and the sun was beaming in.  I did my best!

She will be getting married September 6th...not long now!

The beautiful bride and her equally beautiful sisters.  All of them will be bridesmaids.

Beautiful mom too!

This is the groom's mother and sister.  His sister is also a bridesmaid.

Mom and daughter.

Our family members who attended.

Heather with darling Allie Ruth.

How blessed Morgan is to have so many family and friends!

Luke's 6th birthday party

Saturday was Luke's 6th birthday party in Tuscumbia, AL.  It was held at a party place full of blow ups and jumpy things...pure heaven, especially for little boys!

It was an Atlanta Braves baseball themed party and as always Kaydee attended to every detail.

The birthday boy had a ball!!  It was hard to get him to stop long enough to get a picture!

Darby and Duncan had a ball too!  What kid doesn't love the inflatables?

Luke's 90-something year old great grandmother came to the party too..  She is a brave soul!

Decorations and food were fabulous!  I would expect nothing less!

Opening presents.

And a couple of crazy pictures!

It was fun seeing Luke have so much fun!  He started kindergarten last week.  Hoping he's loving it!

Emma Taylor starts school on Wednesday so we spent some time together yesterday having a girls day before school started.  First she had a manicure with hologram nail polish.  It looks iridescent.  Not my style but she was very happy with it.

Her nails almost look fake but they are hers!

Then sushi for lunch, her choosing.  Not for me!

Then to Walmart to get a few school supplies.  We had a nice day together and those days are few and far between now.

I took Harrison to lunch today.  He wanted to go to Sonic and eat in the car.  There was nowhere else he wanted to go and nothing he wanted to do.  So 40 minutes later he was home.  The difference between those two!

I don't think I mentioned that Heather is teaching freshman English at Tupelo High School this year.  It is her first year of teaching a regular class.  Previously she worked as a reading assistant in an elementary school.  She is excited to get started tomorrow.  Unfortunately she tripped five weeks ago and thought she had a sprain but turns out she might have a broken bone.  She's seeing the orthopedic doctor today.

Wishing and praying for the best school year for all the kids.  Harrison will be attending a new school for him at Tupelo Middle School.  Pray that he makes new friends and has a great year!
