Monday again already!

September is half over!  Still waiting for it to feel like fall though!

I got to hang out with Darby on Friday for a little while.  Luke was in a program at school for Grandparents' Day.  His grandmother usually watches Darby during the day but I volunteered to stay with her so Martha could go to the program.  She really wasn't gone that long.

She was a perfect angel!

She has more toys than Walmart but she loves this kitchen.  She cooks up a storm!

She also loves shoes and changed her shoes a few times while I was there.  What a delight she was!

Kaydee lives in Florence, AL.  It is a pretty town and I would love to spend more time there.  I passed some beautiful old homes on my drive through town.  Wish I could go inside and hear some of their history.

These were just a couple of the beautiful ones I saw.  There were many more!

On the way home I drove through Red Bay and stopped at the farmers market.  The tomatoes and pumpkins were beautiful.

I came home with some of each!  The tomatoes were just as delicious as they look.

I also came home with these smaller pumpkins and mini white pumpkins.

Just hoping the pumpkins last until Halloween!

Here's another house I drive past on my way home from Red Bay.  It's in the middle of nowhere and looks to me like it belongs in another country.

Saturday and Sunday afternoons were spent at the ballpark watching Cam play.

He mostly played third base.  He's got a good arm and can get it to first base easily.

He did some pitching too.

It was not a successful tournament for his team but they always enjoy playing!

House stuff

If you're like me, you've been closely watching Hurricane Florence.  I can't imagine what it would be like to evacuate and not know what you would be coming home to...if anything.  Water is such a nasty thing to clean up too.  Sending prayers for all those who are going through this very trying time.

We can't seem to get a drop of rain!  We are desperate for some and I'm hoping we get a little from the hurricane but it's not looking too promising.

Now that the kids are back in school, my weeks are kind of quiet.  There's plenty to do to keep me busy around here though.

I got a new helper...a Eufy vac.

I'm still getting used to it.  It seems to wander from room to room, kind of like me!  I really don't know how it knows where it has been and where to go but somehow it works.  I'm not totally in love with it yet but everybody that has one says they love it.  I hope I eventually love it as it will save me a lot of work!

Doug also got a new grill this week.

The kids had given him a Home Depot gift card for Father's Day so this is what he decided to get with it.  He was never happy with the last one he had, which was very similar to this one.  We haven't used it yet but hoping he likes this one a lot more.

One last home thing...I ordered this decorative garage door hardware from Amazon.  It's magnetic and seems to stick really well.  I just ordered a set for the house garage.  Thinking about ordering two more sets for the shop doors.

Here's the before.

And after.

Gives it a little personality!  We'll see how they hold up.

Keep safe, everybody!

Feeling like fall!

It was a beautiful 75 degree morning today and just felt a little fallish.  I noticed one of the trees in our back yard is beginning to turn colors and leaves are beginning to drop.  I'm SO over this hot weather and will be especially glad when it cools off permanently!  I may be sorry that I said that come January!

I put a few fall touches in the house, porch and patio.  Once it cools off maybe we can actually enjoy the patio.

Hope you are feeling a touch of fall wherever you are!

Cam will be spending the night tonight so I'm sure it will be a fun weekend!

Weekend

SEC football started last weekend.  That's a season all its own!  We are Mississippi State fans and enjoyed a great win on Saturday.

I got a new flag this year to fly on game days.  If we win, I'll fly it the next day.  If not, I'll be sure to hide it!  One of our neighbors is also an MSU fan.  They have a bulldog on top of their mailbox.  If MSU loses, they put a bag over its head!  So funny!

I have been putting away all the spring and summer decorations and putting out fall decorations.  I much prefer fall decorations.

I removed 10 pillows that were outside on the patios and ran them through a dryer cycle.  I hope that kills any critters that might be hiding inside them!  Out went the fall pillows.  I "may" have too many pillows!!

We are supposed to get some rain today from tropical storm Gordon.  It is much needed and welcomed, though I hope it's not flooding type of rain.

Hope you all have a blessed day!
