Branson Trip, Day 4

It was a bright sunny day but a bit cool.  We headed out with our first stop being the landing where the Showboat boards.

It was pretty quiet that day as it was so cool but I bet in the summer there's a lot of activity.  It looked like a fun thing to do but maybe another time.

We headed to Top of the Rock.

A colorful ride!

We got to Top of the Rock and rented a golf cart for the 2-1/2 mile drive through a cave, over covered bridges and around waterfalls.

It was a fun ride through some beautiful scenery.

Lots of places to stop for pictures and viewing.

We drove through a big cave.

Inside the cave was a bar.

Covered bridges, though not old, still appeal to me.

Beautiful waterfalls.

A beautiful view from one stopping point.

After the golf cart ride, we took a shuttle to the lodge.  It's a big place with restaurants and shops overlooking a golf course.

This little chapel overlooks the golf course.

It was a fun way to spend the day!

We had plans to meet friends for dinner that evening.  They chose McFarlain's.  It was a busy place with lots of tour buses there.

Sonny and Linda met us before they attended a show that evening.

They had been to this restaurant before and were seated when we got there.  We were chatting away and then the food arrived.  It was the strangest thing...the table was slowly rising.  It was hardly noticeable but before I knew it my chin was about table height.  I thought the table was rising but thought they'd think I was nuts if I mentioned it.  Finally Linda couldn't keep from busting out laughing!  They knew it was the "trick" table.  I really thought I was crazy!  Doug too!  We all got a laugh out of it, especially the waitress and others sitting around us.

I watched much of the funeral of President George H.W. Bush today.  Beautiful tributes to a wonderful man.  I couldn't help but shed a few tears for the family.  He was a man who loved his family above all else and it was evident he was much loved as well.
