Happy 1st day of March!

I can't believe it's March already!  Thankfully our two worst months weather wise are over.  It has been such a rainy and dreary winter!  I'm sure you've seen all the flooding on the news.  We got over 15" in just a few days.  Here's a picture of a catfish restaurant we like to go to in Shiloh, TN.  Guess we won't be going there for a while!

There was a tornado in Columbus, MS last Saturday late afternoon.  One of my friends that I worked with for over 20 years at MDOT lost her daughter in the tornado.  A building collapsed on her.  She was 41 years old and leaves two sons, one in college and one is 13.  This was my friend's only child.  I met a few of my old MDOT friends yesterday and we went to the funeral home.  It was very sad.

Karen invited me to join her, her sister-in-law and some of her friends for dinner, then the James Taylor/Bonnie Raitt concert a couple of weeks ago.

I'm not a huge Bonnie Raitt fan but really enjoyed her performance.   She is quite a musician!

I LOVE James Taylor.  Doug and I had seen him before when he came to Tupelo years ago.  He always puts on a great show and we know all his songs.  Fun evening!

We celebrated Sam's 18th birthday with dinner at their house.  Randy always cooks catfish and French fries for us.  We love it more than going to any restaurant!  Caramel cake for dessert!

Hard to believe he's 18!  He will be graduating soon with plans to attend Mississippi State.  He's been working at Chick-fil-A and seems to like it  He gets to eat free when he's working!

After almost two years of wearing braces, Emma Taylor got them off this week.

Look at that beautiful smile!

The orthodontist gives each patient a cup filled with sweet treats that they weren't supposed to eat while wearing braces...gooey, sticky stuff!

We had time for lunch at Salsarita's before going back to get the retainer.

It was the first time I've ever been there but it was really good.

We have had so much rain and a few warm days and things are really starting to bloom.  Bradford Pear trees are beautiful this time of year.  This one is in my yard at the end of the driveway.

I saw these daffodils along a road yesterday and had to stop and get a picture.

They are so pretty in large plantings!

We had put in a bid on a house and it was accepted pending selling ours.  Unfortunately they got another offer so looks like that house was not the one for us!  We've had a lot of people looking at our house but no offers yet.  It will show much better in the spring when the yard and flowers look good.  Lots of work getting it ready though.  I am trusting God's plan and timing!

Have a great weekend!
