A visit to Illinois

It's always fun to go back to Illinois where we spent the first 30+ years of our life.  It's hard to believe we've lived in Mississippi longer than we lived in Illinois.  My sister lives there and we still have lots of friends there.

Pat and I usually get together with our friend Sherry during my visit and it's one of the first things we did!  We had breakfast at Wildberry in Libertyville.  These banana coconut crepes were delicious!

After breakfast we followed Sherry to her new house in Winthrop Harbor.

It's a beautiful home and is already well decorated!

Pat and I had breakfast with Joan and Ken another morning, then toured their new home and new home models in their community.  Another beautiful home and just perfect for them.  It's in a 55 and older community which is very nice.  Forgot to get pictures there.

One day we went to a funeral for a friend's sister.  After the funeral, we went to Kenosha to lunch with our friends the Pushees.  We drove by the two lighthouses in Kenosha on Lake Michigan.

Not sure the name of this one.

This one is Kenosha Lighthouse.  Appropriate name!

We took a ride along Lake Michigan north to Racine to see this lighthouse, the Wind Point Lighthouse.

Picked up some Kringle at one of the bakeries in Racine, then on to Scoops for some ice cream.

Are you seeing a pattern here...a lot of eating going on!
