That evening we celebrated Bowen's 13th birthday at Mugshots. Ben and Cameron joined us as well as Randy's parents.
We had a great celebration! He is doing fabulous since his surgery and went back to school today. He can't carry his backpack so the school was making arrangements for someone to do that for him.
Harrison and Cameron spent the night with us Friday night. I took them to see Santa right after picking them up.
This will probably be the last year that they are willing to sit on Santa's lap!
The Tupelo Christmas parade was that night and Doug had the "honor" of driving the Grand Marshall in the parade.
He's driving a 1950 Packard woody that belongs to Ben's boss Joe. Joe's company Christmas party was that night so he couldn't drive so he asked Doug to do it.
Tupelo has a great parade that lasts about an hour. It was cool but not terribly cold and no wind. We took blankets and cocoa to keep us warm!
They eventually took their hats off and used them to hold all the candy they were able to grab that was thrown out.
Saturday morning they were ready to get busy decorating. First they put up the nativity set.
They did a great job!
Then on to the North Pole Village.
Then on to the tree.
After lunch at the mall, we went to see Trolls.
It was a cute movie and the boys really enjoyed it.
After church on Sunday, Karen and I went to Huntsville to see our brother-in-law Max. You might remember that he had to have part of his foot amputated about four years ago. It has never really done well and lately has been giving him a lot of pain. It has developed blood clots and is not getting blood flow so the doctor plans to amputate above the knee. Not sure when he'll be having it done but hopefully soon to get him out of the pain.
He was in good spirits when we were there. He has other health issues as well so your prayers would be much appreciated. My sister Carolyn is such a trooper but I know she's exhausted from trying to sleep in a very uncomfortable recliner at the hospital. Keep her in your prayers too!! I'll keep you updated.
So that's how my December is going so far!
You've got some good help!! Is that a new cabinet in the dining room? It is deep, I like it. Poor Max, praying for all of them.
