Good news...I got an "all clear" report on the irregular mole that was taken off my back last week. I will have my stitches out next week and be done with it! So thankful it was good news.
My great nephew, Duncan, turned a year old on Sunday. That year flew by! Courtney and Matt hosted a fun 1st birthday party for him on Saturday in Tuscaloosa. I'll post those pictures when I finish the recap of Disney.
On to Disney...we spent our first day in Magic Kingdom. We had our Magic Bands on and fast passes booked and we were ready to go! Doug, Ben and Cameron were orange, Harrison gray and I was pink. These bands were so handy to get into our hotel room, scanning for the dining plan, fast passes and charging anything we bought to our room.
The weather was dreary at first and we even had a bit of rain, but nothing to deter us and it cleared up later in the day. I bought the Disney Memory Maker package so we had a lot of pictures taken as a group.
I had bought these matching shirts when Doug and I were in Orlando in January. Everyone wore them without too much complaint! The '28 stands for the year Mickey Mouse was created.
Our first ride was Big Thunder Mountain. This was a favorite to ours when we were at Disney 30 years ago.
Still a fun ride!
Then Splash Mountain. Good thing I packed those ponchos!
The boys rode the Tea Cup ride. They are in the green cup. Spinning like that makes us old people dizzy!
The boys also rode the Magic Carpet ride where the camel spits water at the riders.
We rode Space Mountain.
Super fun roller coaster! You know it's gonna be intense when they ask you to take your glasses off!
Another fun roller coaster was Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, or as Harrison called it "Seven Dorks."
Loved that one too!
We had to ride the carousel. It's a classic!
And a fun Buzz Light Year's ride where you shoot at targets.
That look of concentration on everybody's face!
We also rode It's a Small World which, of course, is one of my favorites! Pirates of the Caribbean was down for renovation. That's another favorite and we were disappointed that it was closed.
It between the rides we had time for lots of food and snacks like donuts and ice cream. With the dining plan it seemed we had way more food than we could possibly eat!
So many good snacks at Disney!
The boys ended the day with tubs of popcorn to take back to the hotel to snack on.
We left the park shortly after dinner because the evenings got quite cool and we were all worn out!
Magic Kingdom is everybody's favorite. The boys especially love the rides. The other parks don't have that many. It was SUPER crowded since it was spring break for Mississippi, Texas and some of Florida. Fortunately we had fast passes for three of the really busy rides but the wait times were always over 1-1/2 hours if you didn't have a fast pass.
So much fun and it was especially fun to enjoy it with the grandsons!
Hope you all have a Happy Easter. I have the treats all ready for the kids.
Will they ever get too old for Easter treats? Not if money is involved!
I will be having our family and Randy's family for dinner on Sunday.
Karen and I are leaving tomorrow to go to Atlanta to meet Amy and Hanna. Hanna is playing volleyball in a tournament there. We'll be coming home Saturday though so I won't miss Easter. I'll post pictures of that too one of these days!
HE IS RISEN!
