I almost forgot to post about our trip last month to the Creation Museum and Ark, both in Kentucky. We left on a Monday with three other couples and drove to Florence, KY where we spent the night. By the time we arrived in Florence, it was late afternoon. Florence is just south of Cincinnati, OH. The Creation Museum is located in Petersburg which isn't far from Florence.
We were greeted at the museum by this big dinosaur.

Very lifelike "people" helped explain the creation.
Many very lifelike animals too.
The Creation Museum was very interesting, very Biblical. We spent several hours there. There was a sandwich place inside the museum where we had lunch and also ice cream afterwards. We spent another night in Florence.
The next morning we drove down I-75 to the Ark which is in Williamstown, KY. It was only about a 30-45 minute drive south.
The Ark is massive! It's really hard to comprehend how it was built back in Noah's day! The guys were very interested in inspecting how it was built.
It was interesting to see inside how the animals were housed, how they were fed, etc.
More very realistic "people" and many spoke.

Noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives were the only ones on the Ark. Everyone else was destroyed in the flood.
Not a lot of steps in the Ark, just these inclines that are easy to walk. They also have motorized scooters that can be rented.
There was a small petting zoo inside the Ark. This was a friendly guy...I mean the turtle!
It's a buffet and a huge one at that. All for only $9.99 senior price! It was absolutely delicious!

There's a zoo on the property and Jane and Marie decided to take a camel ride. Sharon and I decided to pass! It was a very short ride but I think it was long enough for them. Jane was able to check that off her bucket list. I must say it was never on my list!
We enjoyed this kangaroo with her baby sticking its head out of the pouch! Really sweet!
It was mid-afternoon when we left, then drove to Lexington, KY where we spent the night. We had dinner at Ted's Montana Grill which is owned by Ted Turner. Doug and I both had the Delicious Duo which were sliders, one of beef and the other bison. Both were very good and we really couldn't tell the difference.
We spent the night in Lexington and headed home the next morning. We took some back roads so we could see some of the horse farms. They are so beautiful. Actually Kentucky is a beautiful state.
We passed the Martin Castle which is now a bed and breakfast. No relation to Jack!
I loved the black fences and barns.
No pictures but we saw a few barn quilts along the way too.
We would love to go back to Kentucky and see some of the other sites!
We are celebrating Bowen's 14th birthday this evening with dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, his choice. Can't believe that he's 14 already. He's a sweet young man.
We will be leaving early Saturday morning with D.W. and Jane going to St. Louis for a Christmas party of some racer friends of Doug and D.W.'s. That should be interesting! There's a covered bridge nearby so hopefully we can stop there which will make the trip worthwhile for me!
