Northeast Trip - Day 6

Day 6 started off quite foggy.  We left the motel early and headed down to the Maple Diner for breakfast.

I love the local places to eat.

There were three covered bridges in the Woodstock area.  First was the Lincoln
Bridge.

Woodstock Middle Bridge.  Pat, this is the one we saw in Woodstock on our bus trip.

Quechee Bridge.

To you they may all look the same but to me they are all very different and intriguing!

We drove to Sugarbush Farm which is also in Woodstock.

This has been a family owned business for over 60 years.  It's "famous" for its cheeses and maple syrup which are made right on the farm.  This was the family home which has now been turned into a workshop and gift shop.  We sampled wonderful cheeses and tasted light to dark syrups.

The sugar house.

I bought some cheese and some syrup samplers.

Thought this t-shirt was so cute!

We visited Jenne Farm in Reading, VT.  It is supposed to be one of the most photographed farms in North America.  I don't know how they know that but the setting is breathtaking!

The house is nothing to speak of.

But take a look at the beauty surrounding it!  A photographer's dream!

These pictures just can't do it justice!

Another bridge.  This one I think was on private property but it was close to the road so the car automatically pulled in for a picture!

Interesting headstone for a moose right by the bridge.

We stopped in Weston, VT at the Vermont Country Store for a little lunch.

Chowder and molasses johnnycake.

Creamery Bridge in Brattleboro, VT.

Then on to Scott Farm to get some apples.

I must say that the apples in Door County were much tastier!

I wish I could have brought one of these crates home!

Beautiful farm too!

It was a beautiful and colorful drive to Manchester, VT where we spent the night at a LaQuinta.  We had dinner at Brazilian Steakhouse which was a new experience for me.  Quite interesting!

Just to make this post cute, here's a picture of my great niece Darby who was born in July.  She is absolutely beautiful!

We had a quite weekend.  Since I've had a cold, I stayed most in the house keeping my recliner company.  Feeling much better now.
