One of the first things we saw was this beautiful church.
And another beautiful church.
It's a charming little town.
It was quite busy that morning with tourists and tour busses.
It's Kennebunk on one side of the Kennebunk River.
We were back in Maine which is all about lobster again.
This looked like a beautiful inn.
We decided to have blueberry pie, ice cream and coffee for lunch--the best kind of lunch!
After all, it's a Maine tradition! Lots of blueberries are grown in Maine.
We didn't have any trouble finishing it all!
We split up and walked around on our own a bit. I love the architecture in the northeast.
This is the house I envision living in if I ever move to the northeast. (Which is doubtful!)
We drove by the Wedding Cake House. It's supposedly the most photographed house in the state.
We drove to the Bush's summer home in Kennebunkport.
You can't get really close to the house and there were lots of black Suburbans parked at the entrance.
We passed the resort where we stayed when Pat and I were on our New England bus trip ten years ago. It was a lovely place to stay and within walking distance of the Bush's place.
We headed into Massachusetts.
Diane wanted to stop in Salem to see the location of the Salem Witch Trials.
None of us went inside. It was quite busy in Salem that day. We were told that so close to Halloween it gets really busy. There were some weird looking people walking around!
Cute sign at a coffee shop.
We drove on to Boston.
Debbie wanted to see the campus of MIT and Harvard. I got a picture at MIT but didn't get one of Harvard. It just looked like big buildings!
Then we drove to our condo and checked in.
Very nice inside.
Diane had rented it through VRBO and it was a beautiful condo in a very convenient location. We were on the 11th floor. Diane and Debbie took the rental car to the airport to turn it in. We wouldn't be needing it in Boston.
We grabbed a quick supper at Vivo Burrito which was right around the corner from our condo.
Very good for fast food Mexican!
The next two days we spent in Boston. It's a cool city!
