Courtney and Matt's Reveal Party!

Emma Taylor and I drove to Tuscaloosa on Saturday for Courtney and Matt's reveal party.  It was a Mexican Fiesta theme.

Chicken and beef tacos and dips were served, along with margaritas.

Even Duncan sported a Mexican themed shirt.

Cupcakes and cookies for dessert.

Ready...

Set...

Go!  It's a girl!

We were all stunned!  We were all expecting another boy.  Most everybody at the party wore blue.  Paige and I wore pink but we were really thinking blue!  Matt was a bit surprised too!

They are very happy though.  Duncan is going to have a baby sister!

Duncan was more interested in playing in the confetti.

Sisters and their kids.

Gigi is going to have four grandchildren ages 5 and under, two boys and two girls.  She's going to be a busy grandmother!

Morgan, Tyler and Captain.

What a fun party and what a SURPRISE!

We had a nice Memorial Day.  The kids came over for a cookout and it was a pretty relaxing day!

Happy Birthday to Doug!

It's Doug's birthday today.

Nothing special planned, probably dinner wherever he chooses.

It's also Heather and Randy's anniversary.

Happy two years together!

Doug and I have been doing some major cleaning outside.  It's amazing how dirty it gets.  He cleaned the soffits and gutters.  It's really dirty!

Much better!

It was hard work and he was pooped when he was finished.

I cleaned the fence around the air conditioner unit and also the porch swing.

Before...

Much better!

And the swing...how dirty!

You might actually want to sit on the clean swing!

I love spring but it's a lot of work!  It feels so good to get that done!

Happy Memorial Day!  We have no plans as it's supposed to rain on Monday.

My flag flies every day.  Remembering those who served and lost their lives.

Birthdays!

I'm a little behind on my birthday wishes and we had some pretty important ones!

My sister Carolyn celebrated her 70-something birthday.

Carolyn has a family get together once a month to celebrate all the birthdays that month.  I'm sure her family enjoys it and it sure keeps her family together!

We celebrated Heather's 40-something birthday on Saturday.  I took her to lunch at the Grill.

Sunday was actually her birthday so she and Randy celebrated then.

May is such a beautiful time for a birthday and these two are very special people to celebrate!

Cameron spent the night with me on Saturday night.  Doug was out of town so I was happy to have the company.  He went to early church with me and then we went to Cracker Barrel for brunch.

He found an old fishing rod in Doug's shop and wanted to go fishing.  I know nothing about fishing but he "thinks" he does!  We couldn't find any bait so he suggested buying a package of hot dogs for bait.  That's what we did and off we went to a small lake at Veterans Park.

It was a really hot day but I took a lawn chair and sat under a tree while he fished.  He actually caught a fish but after getting it out of the water, it was fighting and broke the hook off and fell back in the water.

We went for a walk in the trails across from the park.

It was a really neat trail and quite a walk.  We deserved some ice cream after that!

He still loves to drive the golf cart all over the neighborhood.

What a great investment that was!

He asked if he could spend Sunday night with me too.  He was all done with school on Friday.  Harrison had to go back on Monday to take one test.  Cameron and I picked him up after the test and Harrison spent the rest of Monday with us.

I took them to Veterans Park to ride their scooters.

They scoot all over that park!

Harrison had a ballgame Tuesday night.  He scored a run.

And made a great fly ball catch!

Here he is with his buddy Karson.  They both just finished 6th grade at Saltillo.

I think it's going to be a busy summer!  All the kids are out of school now and Heather is officially done for the school year too.  Let the fun begin!

More baseball!

I've been to the baseball field three nights this week watching Harrison play.

He pitched a few innings and did a great job.

He got a couple of hits too.

And scored a run.

Dirty pants from sliding.  The darn ref blocked the view of the slide!

On first.

Today was the last day of school for Emma Taylor and Cameron.  Harrison has one more test on Monday and then he'll be finished.  Heather will be finished on Wednesday.  Everybody is happy to end the year!

I gave each of Cam's teachers (3) a Starbuck's gift card.  I asked Ben if he was going to give them a gift and he said it was not necessary to suck up anymore so NO.  They have been extra sweet to Cameron this year and he's really enjoyed his year.

They deserve so much more!

Doug left for Bowling Green yesterday and will be there all weekend.  He is racing with friends.  I have no plans and no ballgames which makes for a quiet weekend!  Hope you have a good one too!

Mother's Day

I had a very nice Mother's Day.  The kids and grands got up super early to be at early church with us.  Nothing makes a granna prouder than having her family sitting on the pew by her at church!

After church, we went to Cracker Barrel for brunch.  We got several pictures while at Cracker Barrel.

Ben and Cameron sent me some beautiful flowers and also gave me a bird feeder and bird seeds.  Heather and family gave me a gift certificate for a pedicure.

After brunch, it was a very relaxing day for me!  Every day should be Mother's Day!

My first cataract surgery is scheduled for June 19th and the second for July 17th.  I'm looking forward to getting that behind me!
