Goldfield

One of my classmates suggested that we take a ride through the Superstition Mountains.  On our drive we stopped in the ghost town of Goldfield.  The town was established in 1892 during the gold rush, hence the name Goldfield.

It's right across the road from this beautiful view.

It's just one street basically.

But has all the necessary things like a saloon, jail and bordello!

And even a church.

The mine has been closed since the late 1800s but now is a tourist destination.

We enjoyed walking around the little town and was a nice stop before driving through the mountains.
