The National Cemetery

This trip was so different than our trip out west last year.  Last year most nights we were in a different city which meant packing every day and hauling luggage in and out.  It was nice to be in the same place for two weeks and was actually much more relaxing.

Even though we stayed in the Phoenix area for two weeks, it's such a big area and there's so much to do!  We like to do a lot of driving around the area getting the lay of the land and it's amazing the things you will see!

We just happened to be going down the road that this National Cemetery is on.  I enjoy seeing the cemeteries and paying respects.

Such a beautiful setting.

We got to the cemetery just before 5:00 and at 5:00 this carillon started playing the song from each of the branches of the military.  It was beautiful!

Instead of grass, the cemetery is all gravel, as much of the landscape of Phoenix is.  This cemetery has flat headstones as opposed to the other national cemeteries we have been in where the headstones are standing.

The skies are so blue and beautiful in Arizona!

We try to eat at restaurants that we don't have in our area.  Even though it's a burger place, In-N-Out is one of our favorite places to eat!

The burger wrappers have a Bible verse on them.  I like that!
