I had a busy weekend. Friday night Cameron was in a play at school called Dorothy in Wonderland. He had a couple of parts but his main part was the Wizard as in the Wizard of Oz. He's in the green hat.
Cameron did a good job best we could tell. We could hardly hear any of it!
Cameron played baseball on Saturday in New Albany. He was the starting pitcher the first game and did a great job pitching.
When he's not pitching, he's catching.
Ben helps coach the team again this year.
Sunday afternoon I had a photo shoot with Emma Taylor. I got some really pretty pictures of her which I'll post later.
Back to Waco...after breakfast at Magnolia Table, we went back to the Silos.
There's a very small seed shop there.
The gardens were very pretty.
We walked a couple of blocks to the Dr. Pepper Museum.
It's three stories of Dr. Pepper memorabilia. $8.00 senior rate admission.
There was a soda shop there but no free samples of Dr. Pepper!
We walked back to the Silos to the bakery so we could get some cupcakes. There's always a long line but it goes quickly. As you are waiting in line, you are handed a card so you can fill out your order before you get to the counter. You can change your mind after you see the cupcakes if you want to.
I got one lemon lavender, one strawberries 'n cream and one birthday cupcake to celebrate Joanna's 40th birthday.
We sat on picnic tables outside and enjoyed our cupcakes. They were delicious!
We headed over to see the Suspension Bridge over the Brazos River. There are some big, beautiful sculptures of longhorns and cowboys at the entrance.
They were very impressive.
It was quite windy that day!
We drove on to Buc-ee's in Temple, TX.
Lots of Texas stuff.
If you haven't been to a Buc-ee's, you're missing a treat! It's a huge gas station/store with all kinds of interesting things. These Beaver Bites were good!
We happened to see this lighthouse on Lake Buchanan. I lifted this picture from the internet. It was a pretty lighthouse.
We drove to Fredericksburg and checked into the Comfort Inn. We had dinner at the Hill Top Café which was recommended by a friend who used to live in Texas.
Very interesting place inside.
We had the whole place to ourselves. The food was delicious...can't beat Texas beef!
Another fun and busy day!
