Quick Trip to Atlanta

Happy birthday (a day late!) to my great niece Hanna.  She was 15 yesterday!

Karen and I left on Thursday before Easter for a quick trip to Atlanta to meet Amy and Hanna and watch Hanna play volleyball.

We stayed at the beautiful Omni Hotel in downtown Atlanta.  Amy invited us to stay in the room with her and Hanna.

The hotel is huge!

Karen and I drove to Atlanta and arrived before Amy and Hanna did so we took a walk across the street to Centennial Park.

The Skyview Ferris Wheel is located there.

We weren't there very long and Amy called to say they had arrived so we returned to meet them.

We got ready to go to dinner and just as we were leaving to walk to a nearby restaurant, it started pouring rain.  Fortunately the hotel had a wonderful buffet in one of their restaurants so we decided that was a much better option.

The next morning Hanna's volleyball tournament started at 8:00.  She had to leave much earlier but it was an early morning for us too.  The hotel is connected to the Georgia World Congress Center where the games were held, though it was quite a walk!

There were SO many games going on at the same time and it was crazy noisy and busy but so much fun to watch!

Hanna was awesome and her team won all their games that day.

Courtney and Duncan surprised Amy and Hanna and drove up from Tuscaloosa to see her play.

Hanna had quite a fan club considering she lives in Colorado Springs!

View from our hotel of downtown Atlanta.

We walked right past the Mercedes-Benz Stadium which is the new football stadium.

We had dinner again that evening at the hotel but in a different restaurant, equally delicious.

Hanna had an early morning on Saturday.  Again her team won all their games.  AWESOME!

One final goodbye to Courtney and Duncan and we headed home early afternoon.

Super quick trip but so worth it to see them!

Harrison's first baseball game was last night at 7:00 p.m.  He scored the first run for his team.

I didn't get many pictures but I'll do better next game!
