We left last Sunday heading to Texas with our friends D.W. and Jane. Our first stop was at the Crystal Grill in Greenwood. It has been family owned and operated since 1933. It was very busy at lunch on Sunday but we waited patiently and it was worth it. The food was delicious!
We went on from there with a stop at the Louisiana Welcome Center.
We drove across the top of Louisiana and into Texas.
The Texas Welcome Center was already closed but the bathrooms were open and they even had Texas maps in them.
We had reservations in Longview, Texas for the night. We quickly checked in and found a place close by for dinner. This Texas Best Smokehouse was in a large gas station with several other restaurants and shopping. The BBQ was very good.
Only in Texas do you find a Longhorn instead of a horse for kids to ride!
The next day we headed toward Waco.
