Wishing Lisa a happy birthday today. Hope she has an awesome day. And happy April everyone! Can't believe how fast this year is going by!
I had a great time in Atlanta watching Hanna play volleyball. She was awesome and her team did so well.
We also had a beautiful Easter day yesterday. I'll post recaps of these events as soon as I finish Disney World. I'm getting so far behind!
We spent Day 2 at Epcot. We got there early and it was a bit chilly but again warmed up later in the day.
There aren't too many rides in the Epcot park but we rode the ones that were there.
Soarin' was a fun ride where you feel like you're hang gliding across the world.
We rode Test Track where you create your own virtual concept vehicle and then take off in a roller coaster. The boys really loved it!
The ride was sponsored by Chevrolet so at the end there were real cars you could sit in and pretend to drive.
We also rode Spaceship Earth and Space Mountain, Space Mountain is a roller coaster all in the dark. Fun! We rode Mission Space where you experience a simulated space launch. That was pretty intense and Doug and I got nauseated. I was glad to get off that one!
We walked through all the countries. First was Mexico. You can see how crowded it was.
The boys couldn't resist trying on the sombreros!
Then Norway. We took an ice cream break and had a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar.
Then France. It was so crowded we could hardly move. You can see the Eiffel Tower in the background but you can't actually walk up to it.
We stopped for caramel treats in Germany. We shared a caramel apple and a bag of caramel corn.
The boys got souvenir caps that they picked out from the Mouse Gear store.
We also stopped at just about every penny pressing machine for souvenir pennies! I came armed with a roll of quarters and pennies.
Cheap souvenirs!
On to Canada.
The Flower and Garden Festival was going on and the flowers and topiaries were gorgeous.
We walked through all of the countries but it was so crowded and long lines to get any kind of snack or to buy anything. I wish I could have spent more time there.
We ended the day having dinner in China at the boys' request.
Again, they could not resist trying on these hats. Ben actually bought one!
We returned to our hotel after dinner and the boys insisted on swimming even though it was really chilly!
At least they had the pool all to themselves!
