Another day in D.C.

Thankfully we had beautiful weather while in D.C.  It was a bit windy at times but very pleasant.  Cabs were everywhere so getting around was very easy.

Getting ready to go to an early lunch.

We had reservations at the Cactus Cantina and had a delicious Mexican lunch.

After lunch we headed over to the National Cathedral.  Services were over by this time so we were able to walk around the Cathedral.

It is truly magnificent!

We look rather small compared to the huge Cathedral!  Carolyn borrowed Amy's coat and we kidded her that she looked like Columbo!

We then headed over to the Kennedy Center where we had tickets for a play.

There were lots of things going on in different theaters.  We had tickets for Shear Madness.

Normally you can go out on the balconies that surround the Kennedy Center but the balconies were closed because of the wind but this was the view through the windows.  Washington Monument in the background.

Lincoln Memorial in this view.

We had a little time before the play started so we stopped in at KC Café for a cup of coffee and a snack.

I've never seen a wine bar in a snack shop!

Karen and I split a black and white cookie.

Almost time for the play to start.

As we were leaving the Kennedy Center, we saw people in a roped off area standing as if they were waiting for someone to enter.  I asked one of the guys waiting who they were waiting for and he said Jerry Seinfeld.  About that time this black SUV drove up and Jerry got out of it.  I started snapping pictures.  Pat and the rest of the group were standing off to the side and Pat yells, "Jerry, we love you!"  He looked at them, smiled and waved.  He was very gracious!  If you know Pat you know that's very unlike her!!  Gave us a thrill!

Looks like some other stars were coming in or had come in too!

The play was very funny!  It was in a very small theater so it was very personal.  We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Then on to Georgetown Cupcake.

It's a very small place and you can see the line is way out the door and down the street.

We each got a different flavor and shared a bite of each.

It didn't take long to devour the cupcakes!  We took a stroll around Georgetown.

Then dinner at Filomena where, again, we had reservations.  It was a very busy place!

This lady was making pasta.

This place was really decorated for Halloween!

I had the Lobster Ravioli  It was so good but I couldn't even eat half of it!  Huge portions!  I would suggest sharing if  you ever go there.

This isn't a very good picture because the light was so low but we are once again toasting Pat!

She shared her tiramisu with all of us...yum!

Another fun day of celebration!
