We started off the day with a hearty breakfast at Billy Gail's. It was recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint.
I had this delicious cherry French toast, the special for the day.
It was a busy place but we were there fairly early and got right in.
We headed over to pick up some tickets for a show. Saw this beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby. I loved all the musical things on it.
We stopped at another tourist info place.
There are many of these tourist info places and they are all trying to see you timeshares! Been there, done that! I booked our tickets for the shows online. It's really much better to go into the lobby of the theater where the show you want to see is playing and buy the tickets directly from them. You can also book online but be sure you are booking directly from them and not going through another agent.
It started to rain but we drove through the old downtown anyway.
We stopped in Dick's 5 & 10. There's all kinds of junk in there but interesting to poke around!
We decided it would be a good day to visit the Toy Museum.
We were told in one of the shops downtown that there was a Paul Harvey display at the museum.
It was toys and things that belonged to Paul Harvey mostly as a kid. It was interesting and we both liked Paul Harvey a lot.
There were more toys than you can imagine in there! If it was ever made, they had it! All very well organized and displayed well.
Games I've never even heard of!
We enjoyed going down memory lane with all these toys.
They had a very elaborate train setup. Really detailed and we spent a lot of time walking around it.
We had an early dinner at Mel's Hard Luck Diner.
The wait staff also entertains. They were very good!
Really a fun place.
We had tickets for the show SIX. It's six brothers who sing acapella but their voices make all the instrument sounds. It was incredible and I would highly recommend seeing it if you're ever in Branson. We thoroughly enjoyed it and were amazed by their talent.
Everything was decorated for Christmas.
We noticed these Camaros sitting out in front of the theater. They each had SIX in big letters on the side. Each one had a different color roof. There were only four of them sitting there. The man directing traffic said that each one of them had a Camaro with a different color roof. He said to be sure to notice their pocket squares in the beginning act and you would know which one belonged to which color car. Two of them were in the shop. They sure did park wonky!
And that was our busy day!
We had a very nice weekend. After the cold week last week, the weekend was quite nice. Some friends and I went to a Christmas open house at an antique mall, Relics, on Sunday. Two full floors of antiques and miscellaneous stuff. It also was fun going down memory lane as most of us owned or still own some of the stuff in the antique shop! Who doesn't still have the yellow/orange/green Tupperware measuring cups?? The Christmas open houses are starting and I love going to them!
