Northeast Trip - Day 4

It was dark when we drove into New Hampshire the night before, but we were staying just a few miles from the state line so we drove back the next morning to get some pictures.  Then it was all about covered bridges!!

First stop was Saco River Bridge in Conway, NH.

View from the bridge.

A beautiful tree by the bridge.

Swift River Bridge also in Conway.

We drove through the beautiful White Mountains.

To the Albany Bridge

Such a beautiful drive along the back roads.

Especially beautiful in the mountains.

The beautiful white churches just beg to be photographed!

Groveton Covered Bridge.

Stark covered bridge.  This bridge is unique with the church that can be seen right through it.

Country roads.

Mechanic Street Bridge in Lancaster.

We saw lots of porches stocked with firewood.  Getting ready for the cold weather and snow.

We drove into Vermont to see the Lunenburg Bridge.

This picture was taken of beautiful Damariscotta, VT taken from I-93.

We drove back into New Hampshire and spent the night at Channel Waterfront Cottages in Weir's Beach.

These cottages were on Lake Winnipesaukee.  We didn't always have reservations for the night and winged it most of the time.  We were always successful at finding somewhere to stay!

We had dinner at a lovely restaurant right on the lake and had a relaxing evening.

I started this post last Friday but got sidetracked by lots of things, mostly that I had Harrison and Cameron all weekend.  I'll update on that later and also our Halloween fun!

Wishing my sister Pat a very happy birthday today.  Hope she's had a wonderful day!
